Gift Guide for Littles
Hi mamas! With the holidays right around the corner I thought it would be fun to put together a gift guide for your little ones. I can’t believe I’m saying this but I’m nearly done with my Christmas shopping this year (literally never happens), but with two I’ve really tried to spread out my purchases and make sure the items I’m getting are thoughtful and spark little imaginations. I love gifts that teach mindfulness, creativity, pretend play, dress up, and anything that encourages physical activity.
Sharing an extensive list of items; some of these are things my girls have and love and others are things I know they would. I hope it’s helpful! Make sure to check back as I’ll be adding to it throughout this holiday season.
Dear Santa,
I absolutely love games and activities that teach mindfulness; one of my favorites is the Happy Hearts game by Mindful & Co. I purchased it for Goldie’s third birthday this year and it has been such a hit; she loves doing the yoga poses and answering the questions on the happy cards. Questions include things like “say two things you love about yourself” and “tell your funniest joke”. I highly recommend. We are also big fans of coloring or painting (especially with watercolors), floor puzzles, and building blocks. This set is our fave; the jewels are especially pretty in the sunlight!
I’m always encouraging dress up and make-believe play too (even though the laundry gets even more out of control than it already is). Goldie is always in a princess dress; she has accumulated quite the collection. Her current favorite combo is her Cinderella dress from GAP and her Cinderella jelly “heel highs” from Target (they even light up).
Lastly, I love anything that helps burn off energy. Goldie got the Stapelstein rainbow set for her birthday and I cannot say enough good things about the colorful blocks. She uses them as chairs, as bowls, brings them in the pool, stacks them to climb and arranges them as obstacle courses. Even Gwenneth (6 mos old) loves the colors that they come in and is already trying to crawl up on them. They literally get used every single day.
I recently ordered this House of Noa tumbling mat as a joint Christmas gift too. I’m excited for the girls to use it. It comes in so many prints, bluebell is my personal fave. Hoping this purchase gives my couch a little break..
